The Wizard’s Car

9944637423_452a2cfe40_h
The 1965 customised Volkswagen 1200 belonging to the Wizard of Christchurch, New Zealand. This could often be seen parked in Christchurch’s Cathedral Square while The Wizard http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wizard_of_New_Zealand climbed his ladder for his customary speeches. Christchurch Cathedral and the Square itself were badly damaged in the earthquakes of 2010 and 2011 and so it’s been a while since I’ve seen this car out in public. Seeing it again brought back a lot of memories and made me realise quite what an intriguing vehicle it is. It would be interesting to know who designed and built it.
